An estimate under Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 for full-time employees in the UAE private sector: gratuity under Article 51, unused annual leave on the basic wage (Article 29, and Article 19 of Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022), and notice pay on the full wage, paid by whichever side did not serve the notice (Article 43). What goes into a UAE final settlement
When a job ends, the law gives a full-time employee in the UAE private sector more than the gratuity. A final settlement usually has five parts, and they are not all paid on the same wage.
Unused annual leave
Paid on your basic wage, for every leave day you have earned and not taken (Article 29, and Article 19 of Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022).
Notice pay, either way
If your employer ended the contract without giving notice, they pay you your full wage for the notice period. If you left without serving it, you owe your employer the same (Article 43).
Unpaid salary
Any salary still due for days you worked.
Deductions
Money you owe your employer, such as a loan or an advance, can be taken off.
Basic wage and full wage
Your basic wage is the salary in your contract before allowances. Your full wage adds housing, transport and the other allowances. Gratuity and leave use the basic wage; notice pay uses the full wage.
Paid within 14 days
Your employer must pay the whole settlement within 14 days of your contract ending.

Is unused leave paid on basic or full salary?
On basic salary. Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022 pays the balance of your annual leave on your basic wage when your service ends.
Do I have to pay my employer if I leave without serving notice?
Yes. Under Article 43 the side that doesn't serve the notice pays the other the worker's wage for the notice period, or for the part not served. Your employer can take it off what they owe you.
What if my employer ends my contract without notice?
They owe you your full wage for the notice period, or for the part they didn't give, on top of your gratuity and leave. A dismissal without notice under Article 44 is the exception, and it still keeps your gratuity.
How long is the notice period?
At least 30 days and no more than 90, as your contract sets it.
When must my final settlement be paid?
Within 14 days of your contract ending.
Can my employer deduct money from my settlement?
Yes, money you owe them, such as a loan or an advance. The calculator takes off whatever you enter as deductions.
