What a renewal includes
Each visa, on its own date
A residence visa renews every two years from its own expiry date, at its own figure.
Extras only when they apply
IFZA, for example, charges for business activities beyond those in your package. Any extra shows on your invoice before you pay.

When to renew
Renew before your expiry date to avoid the authority's late fees.
Before the expiry date
Your licence shows its expiry date. Renewing before it keeps the company trading: UAQ FTZ, for example, states that business cannot be carried out on an expired licence.
A few weeks early
That leaves time for the authority's checks and for anything it asks you to provide, such as a document or your accounts.
IFZA asks for your accounts
Since 30 September 2025, IFZA asks for financial statements at every licence renewal: a simplified statement on IFZA's template when turnover was AED 3 million or less and the company had nine employees or fewer, audited accounts otherwise.

How much does a trade licence renewal cost?
Renewing a licence starts at AED 10,500 + VAT a year, and rises with the licence type and the visas on it. Each residence visa renews every two years, from AED 7,850 + VAT. The table above lists every free zone, licence type and visa count.
When should I renew my licence?
Before the expiry date printed on it. Starting a few weeks early leaves time for the authority's checks, and renewing late brings the authority's late fees.
Do my visas renew with the licence?
No. Each residence visa renews every two years from its own expiry date, separately from the yearly licence renewal, and is priced on its own.
